WELCOME to The High Country of Tuolumne County

It is such a pleasure to welcome you to my blog!

Hope that you enjoy the smell of fresh air, the songs of the birds - even if they are woodpeckers putting holes in your cabin walls! Let me know how you like this "new enterprise" of mine!

HAPPY NEW YEAR

Well,  we can expect a lot of politics this year.  Also it is supposed to be an El Nino weather year on the WEST coast and there will surely be many more WEATHER EVENTS, seismic events like the 7.6 earthquake on the west coast of Japan early this morning.  I just heard that this is also a LEAP YEAR so get ready for your lady friend to suggest a wedding SOON!  OR does romance work that way anymore?

Speaking of romance... whatever happened to the songs like LOVE AND MARRIAGE:  Love and Marriage, Love and Marriage go together like a horse and carriage.  This I tell you brother, you can't have one without the other.  The Magic Penny: LOVE is like a magic penny, hold it tight and you won't have any, lend it, spend it and you'll have so many they roll all over the floor.  LOVE makes the World go round...   you get the picture,  we NEED more positive musical statements to strengthen our connections in this crazy world.

We watched the Rose Parade and the desk clerk told us that for her - the Parade in Pasadena WAS NEW YEARS!  So we told her how we walked up to Orange Grove Ave and examined the floats, enjoying the sights and smells and then jogged back to our little house in South Pasadena to watch the parade on TV so we could see the cars of distinguished guests, horse groups, and the many large bands that had been assembling on side streets to be woven into the line of floats to make the parade fit the plan which the commentators had in their three ring binders.  The work of organizing a parade that runs over two hours boggles my mind!!

We discovered in our new Road Atlas that there was in fact a time zone beyond New York City's famous Time Square.   We had been saying HAPPY NEW YEAR at 9 PM in California when the ball descends at midnight in Times Square.  So we said Happy New Year, exchanged kisses and went to bed at the motel where we were staying for the weekend at 8 PM - Happy New Year in Maine and Nova Scotia - totally forgetting that we were NOT in California we were in eastern Colorado - the Mountain Time Zone.  HA-ha-ha.  I guess we needed the SLEEP!

So wherever you are, whatever Time Zone you are in, whatever parade you watched, whatever weather you are experiencing, you have a great day, an awesome year, and a blessed life!!
