WELCOME to The High Country of Tuolumne County

It is such a pleasure to welcome you to my blog!

Hope that you enjoy the smell of fresh air, the songs of the birds - even if they are woodpeckers putting holes in your cabin walls! Let me know how you like this "new enterprise" of mine!

BROTHER and SISTER Week x TWO

It will be a busy and interesting week.  My brother Gary and his Nancy are coming for their annual SPRING TRAINING WEEK - this year only five days!!  Nancy has an AUNT and cousin in Peoria AZ.  So we are invited for lunch on Wednesday at their rig in Lake Pleasant.  We are looking forward to visiting their new-to-them larger trailer.

Since we will be in the BIG CITY for a day or two we will enjoy lunch with an old friend from Sonora - the lady who sold us the Strawberry INN in 1978!!  She had kept my phone number and sent me a Happy Birthday text as she was clearing out her Real Estate Files and came upon THAT one!  I would call her an OLD FRIEND,  but she is my age!!

Then there is the quarterly trip to COSTCO and HOBBY LOBBY since those are available nearby, but no place NEARER to where we have been for three months.  As my sister tells me - one of the disadvantages of "living in the middle of nowhere!!"  It does prevent one from being a "shop-aholic" and allows us to enjoy the adventure of 'making do' with what you have, or what is available!!  The nearest WalMart is in Parker, an hour and a half each way, so that doesn't happen all that frequently!!

After church on Sunday, two weeks from this Sunday, my brother Walt and his Ruth will meet us in Wickenburg for late lunch.  That is an hour plus to the east of us,  but closer than the Phoenix area.  They are out this way for a memorial service for an old friend in Surprise. The friends death was a surprise, he just didn't wake up one morning. BUT, isn't that the way we would all like to go HOME, away from this travail we call life.   And at our age, as Ruth mentioned,  "We do attend more funerals and memorial services than weddings!!"

We did receive word from a widow friend that "Love can happen at all ages!"  She has a gentleman friend having been a widow for several years.  He had been married 59 years when his wife died, and our friend and her husband had well over 50 years of adventures.

On that happy note.  Hug everyone you LOVE, even if only digitally and tell them often that they are loved.   "Love makes the world go round, love makes the world go round..."
